An IATA-commissioned survey of recent travelers found that 60 percent anticipate a return to travel within one to two months of containment of the COVID-19 pandemic, but 40 percent say they could wait six months or more. Also, 69 percent said they could delay a return to travel until their personal financial situation stabilizes.
UPDATE ON THE CORPORATE TEAM, WE ARE STILL BRINGING NURSES TO NEW JERSEY TO HELP AT VARIOUS HOSPITALS AND NURSING HOMES. ALTHOUGH, I SPOKE TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE COMPANY YESTERDAY AND IT SEEMS TO BE SLOWING DOWN AS THE NUMBERS OF HOSPITAL ADMISSIONS DECREASE.
WE WERE ASKED BY ONE OF OUR CORPORATE ACCOUNTS TO DO AN AIR ANALYSIS TO PUNTA CANA IN OCTOBER. IN CHECKING THE AVAILABILITY WE WERE SURPRISED TO SEE HOW FEW NON STOP FLIGHTS THERE ARE AT THIS TIME. MOST OF THEM WERE CONNECTIONS. THE FARES ARE HIGHER THAN ANTICIPATED.
EVA AIRLINES HAS INSTITUTED A PASSENGER HEALTH DECLARATION FORM THAT EACH PASSENGER MUST SUBMIT AT THE AIRPORT, THEY WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT HAVE SYMPTOMS FOR COVID-19, SUCH AS FEVER, COUGH, SHORTNESS OF BREATH, SORE THROAT. ALSO, TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU WERE NOT IN CLOSE CONTACT WITH ANY PERSON SUSPECTED TO HAVE COVID-19.
IN THE EVENT THAT THE PASSENGER’S DECLARATION IS FOUND TO BE FALSE, THE PASSENGER WILL BE HELD LIABLE FOR CRIMINAL DETENTION OR FINE ACCORDING TO THE CDC ACT .
ANYONE REFUSING TO SIGN WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO BOARD THE FLIGHT.
WE ARE THINKING THAT THE OTHER AIRLINES WILL FOLLOW WITH THIS DECLARATION.
AMERICAN, DELTA AND UNITED ARE FOLLOWING THE SOCIAL DISTANCING ON THEIR AIRCRAFTS. THEY ARE SELLING LESS SEATS ON EACH FLIGHT AND IN MOST CASES NOT SELLING THE MIDDLE SEAT.
BELOW ARE THE RULES ON CANCELLING AND REFUNDING THOSE CARRIES. KEEP IN MIND THAT THESE

Can I change or cancel my flight?
It‘s easy to cancel, make changes or rebook online. Visit My Trips to make changes to your flight(s) any time before your travel date. We’re now waiving change fees and providing greater flexibility to travel using eCredits through September 30, 2022, for customers who:
- have upcoming travel already booked for March through September 30, 2020 as of April 17, 2020
- have existing eCredits or canceled travel from flights in March through September 30, 2020
Tickets purchased between March 1 and May 31, 2020, can be changed without a change fee for a year from the date you purchased it.
In keeping with our longstanding policy, if Delta cancels or significantly delays a flight, you will first be rebooked on an alternate flight. If you choose to cancel your reservation, or if Delta cannot find an alternate flight and cancels the reservation for you, you will be issued an eCredit for the value of the ticket, which can be used toward future travel through September 30, 2022.
You may also request a refund back to your original form of payment if Delta cancels or significantly delays your flight (delays or schedule changes greater than 90 minutes). If your travel has been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, you can also change or cancel your travel without a change fee. If there is a difference in price, the fare difference will apply.

How to change your flight, or cancel and rebook later
By The Hub team, April 04, 2020
To help with the uncertainty around future travel — be it summer vacations, conferences, events and more — customers now have until April 30 to make changes to, or cancel, any travel they have booked through the end of the year without fees. This is in addition to existing waivers already in place which allow customers to change or cancel plans for travel through May 31.If you decide to cancel your flight, you can retain the value of your ticket to be applied to a new ticket without a fee. These electronic travel certificates are now valid for 24 months from the date they were issued. This includes all currently valid electronic certificates and all new ones issued on or after April 1, 2020. You might not see this policy change reflected everywhere right away – we appreciate your patience as we work to make that happen.
Eligible travelers on domestic flights and international tickets can request a refund on united.com or may call our contact centers if their flights have been severely adjusted or service to their destination suspended either due to government mandates or United schedule reductions related to COVID-19.
Certain tickets cannot be changed on united.com or the mobile app, including tickets booked through another airline (if the ticket receipt does not begin with 016). Please contact the original ticketing airline for changes.
